  6. About Envelope Maker  -------------------------------------------

  8. Envelope Maker is an easy to use,  full feature envelope printing
  9. application that makes the job of printing envelopes a breeze. It
  10. runs on all IBM and compatible computers in a minimum of  265K of
  11. RAM. It requires an Epson or IBM compatible dot matrix printer.
  12.  
  13. Envelope Maker is a shareware product,  which means that you  can
  14. try it  before you buy it,  and freely copy and share the program
  15. with your friends.
  16.  
  17. There are three steps to using Envelope Maker:
  18.   1. Installing the Envelope Maker files.
  19.   2. Running the Program
  20.   3. Reading the User's Guide
  21.  
  22. In the directions that follow,  <Enter> means press the  Enter or
  23. Return key.

  26. Installing Envelope Maker  --------------------------------------

  28. Envelope Maker  may be installed on any  drive/directory on  your
  29. hard disk or, ran from a floppy disk drive.  The only requirement
  30. is that ENV.EXE, ENV.IDX, ENV.PRO, ENV.DAT and TITLE.DAT files be
  31. on the same drive and directory.
  32.  
  33. Registered users receive one of two versions of the  program file
  34. (ENV.EXE).  The first,  optimized for CPUs 8088 thru 80186.  This
  35. version will have a /U suffix,  marked after the version designa-
  36. tion on the disk. The second version's for 80286 thru 80486 CPUs.
  37. This version  will have a  /F suffix,  marked  after the  version
  38. designation on the disk.  If  you didn't designate  your CPU type
  39. when  you  registered,  or you're  not sure of the type,   you'll
  40. receive /U type.  This is the universal version that will  run on
  41. all IBM and compatible computers.   NEVER  attempt to run the  /F
  42. type on a computer that has an 8088 through  80186 CPU!   It will
  43. only run correctly if your computer has an 80286 or higher CPU.

  45. Installing on floppy only system:   With your  DOS system disk in
  46. drive A: and a blank diskette in drive B: type:

  48.   Format B: /s  <Enter>
  49.  
  50. After formatting put this disk in drive A. Put the Envelope Maker
  51. distribution disk in drive B and type:

  53.   Copy B:*.* A: <Enter>
  54.  
  55. You're ready now to run Envelope Maker.

  57. Installing  on a  hard disk system:   At the C>  prompt and  with
  58. Envelope Maker distribution disk in drive A type:
  59.   Copy A:*.* C:\directory of your choice <Enter>

  70. You're ready now to run Envelope Maker.

  72. Please read  the  User's Guide (in ENV.DOC) for the  installation
  73. and use of the Grab utility.

  76. Running Envelope Maker  -----------------------------------------

  79. Floppy disk system:  With your working diskette in drive A and at
  80.  the A> prompt, type:
  81.                          ENV <Enter>
  82.  
  83. Hard Disk system: Change to the directory you copied the Envelope
  84.  Maker files to and type:
  85.                          ENV <Enter>
  86.  
  87. Select the Setup option from the Main Menu.  Envelope Maker auto-
  88. matically detects the adapter type  and allows  three colors with
  89. any color adapter.  Monochrome adapter computers don't  have this
  90. option.  If your monitor is color,  select the Change Colors menu
  91. option. Follow the screen prompts to set the three colors of your
  92. choose.  Continue setup, selecting your printer type and envelope
  93. size choice, ETC.. Changes made take effect when you exit Setup.

  96. Reading the User's Guide  ---------------------------------------

  98. The user's guide is the file ENV.DOC.  This file is an ASCII file
  99. which  may printed or viewed with your favorite text  editor/word
  100. processor.

  102. You are encouraged to copy the  Envelope Maker  disk and share it
  103. with others.  After trying out Envelope Maker, and decide to con-
  104. tinue to use it,  you are  trusted to register for  $20.00.  Your
  105. support is important and greatly appreciated. With it, this Share
  106. ware product will be continuously developed and updated.
